A lead is a potential customer who has expressed interest in a product and whose name and contact details are known. The goal of lead generation is not to promote a product or service but to gather information to increase sales opportunities.

Both indicate the potential customer, but they refer to different stages of the so-called sales funnel. First comes the lead, then the prospect. A lead is a potential customer who has been identified to establish commercial contact. A prospect is a potential customer who, after the first contact, is interested in a real commercial proposal.

HOW A LEAD CAN BE ACQUIRED?

Lead generation

Lead generation is a processes aimed at acquiring leads. Lead qualification

Lead qualification is the process by which the company identifies the most valuable profiles on which to focus commercial efforts, within the list of contacts (leads) generated through specific marketing campaigns (lead generation).

Lead nurturing

Lead nurturing concentrates all the initiatives implemented by the company after the acquisition of a lead to establish a sales negotiation with it. It includes various forms of sales promotions and short and medium-term incentives aimed at encouraging the purchase of the products or services offered by the company.
